CANCELLED BY THE COUNCIL
Sadly, after almost a decade, and the huge joys and traditional fun of the event, we have been prevented from bringing you a 10th annual Hogmanay Snow Ball Ceilidh™. Edinburgh City Council - who run the Assembly Rooms venue, which belongs to the citizens of the capital - very surprisingly gave active preference to another organisation, despite the Snow Ball's fantastic and flawless record and charitable giving. We tried every avenue to keep the show on but had no success - and are as baffled by the Council's actions as the many ceilidh-goers who have been asking us for news. We're
so sorry but hope very much that we can bring the event back next year. We have been looking at other venues but feel that the tradition of a beautiful Hogmanay ceilidh at the Assembly Rooms is one worth fighting for. If you feel similarly, do please let your views be known.

The Assembly Rooms glitter grandly and have
two huge ballrooms.
At Hogmanay, we hold a different type of ceilidh simultaneously in each! The Music Room Ballroom stays traditional all night. Meanwhile, the Front Ballroom has a contemporary ceilidh and it later morphs into a glam discotheque... until the great Scottish seasonal favourites return for 'The Bells' - Auld Lang Syne, Loch Lomond and more! Sumptuous historic Drawing Rooms become two VIP Lounges.

The Assembly Rooms, on George Street in the New Town, had a £10m refurb and is the city's largest, grandest venue. The foundation stone was laid in 1783 and the Hogmanay Snow Ball Ceilidh is a fine event to grace an elegant building bequeathed to us by citizens of years past.

Local hosts Gary McLean Quin, Event Director, plus John Richardson and Peter Ferguson of award-winning Beautiful Events & Productions, and team, have worked hard to create an affordable yet dazzling event for the capital.
Enjoy both traditional and contemporary ceilidhs - and a very glam discotheque later in one ballroom, dancing under the biggest chandeliers outside a palace! It's beautiful and classy and yet informal and fun. It's... a ball!
Tickets are reasonably priced for such a spectacular city centre occasion and have stayed much the same for years. We offer EarlyBird and EasyPay by Instalment options earlier in each year to help keep it open to all.
